Create Repeat Patterns and Textures with Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plates

Hi everybody and welcome to my first post of 2018!
Its Birgit! Today, I am going to share a fun way of creating repeat patterns and textures on your Gelli Arts gel printing plate. This is a great activity to do with kids!

First you have to find a paint roller that fits inside your paper tube, collect some tubes and you are ready to go!

1. Self-adhesive craft foam. Cut simple shapes from the foam and add texture to them with a skewer if you like.

2. Sequin waste, also known as punchinella. Apply some double-sided tape at both ends to adhere the sequin waste to the tube.

3. Elastic bands.

4. Thread and fibers. Cut a little notch on both sides of the tube to hold the thread. Randomly wrap around the tube.

5. Tin foil. Randomly wrap tin foil around the tube.

6. Bubble wrap. Apply some double-sided tape at both ends to adhere the bubble wrap to the tube.

7. Cut shapes. Fold the tube to make it flat, then use scissors to cut out shapes.

8. Painters tape. Randomly apply around the tube.

9. Shaped edges. Use shaped scissors to cut the tubes into smaller parts.

Experiment with combining several patterns. And dont forget, the left over paint on your tool will also create wonderful patterns when you roll them off on some scrap paper.

Im pretty sure you will find many more ways to create repeating pattern and texture with paper tubes. We would love it if you share with us!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Happy printing!
Birgit
